BOŠÍN: A PRESERVED VILLAGE MONUMENT
Bošín is a lively example of a village with a unique set of houses presenting the typical folk architecture of the Polabí region. Two churches, evangelical and catholic, dominate village.
ČTVRTĚ: A PROTECTED LANDSCAPE AREA NEAR MCELY
A place with a unique presence of endangered plants in a beautiful bottomland forest. There are the remains of ramparts of a Celtic fortified settlement in the forest as well as momentous trees: European beech and Common cornel.
ROMANKA TOWER - HRUBÝ JESENÍK
The Romanka tower is a tower with the lowest altitude in the Czech Republic: 204.5 m above the sea level. It is 50 metres high and there are 116 steps leading to the top. The tower floors are at the height of 26 metres. You can walk to the tower through an original restored alley, which became a small arboretum of trees typical for the Polabí lowlands.
THE CHLEBY ZOO
The smallest zoo in the Czech Republic with a licence and the only one in Central Bohemia. There are more than 100 protected and endangered animal species from all over the world.
THE MUSEUM OF BEDŘICH SMETANA - JABKENICE
The Museum of Bedřich Smetana with a permanent exposition is devoted to the life of Smetana and his family in Jabkenice. The essence of the exposition is the interiors of Smetana´s study and the family salon reconstructed according to the period evidence.
CHATEAU LOUČEŇ
The chateau bears witness to the good old times when the members of the Czech Thurn-Taxis ducal family line were alive. An interactive chateau exposition introduces life at the chateau. You will learn what the life at the chateau was like and how the nobility and the servants lived. There is also an extraordinary labyrinth in the chateau park, the first in Bohemia and the only one in Europe.
CHATEAU KŘINEC AND THE RUINS OF THE KUNCBERK CASTLE
The ruins of the Kuncberk castle are near the village Křinec, where you can also find early baroque chateau.
THE BUČICKÝ MILL - ROŽĎALOVICE
Only 1.5 kilometres from the village Rožďalovice, there is a picturesque spot dominated by the Bučický Mill guest house. Apart from the restaurant and accommodation, it offers horseback riding, fishing facilities and an ecological farm. Romantic pastures, the unique natural locality of the lakes of Rožďalovice and a significant roost of various birds.
THE MELANTRICH GALLERY AND THE MEMORIAL HALL OF FAMOUS NATIVES
The Museum of Polabí welcomes you to the permanet exposition on Jiří Melantrich of Aventýn, a famous Renaissance book printer; an exposition about significant pedaqoque G. A. Lindner and other natives of the village Rožďalovice in the beautiful building of a former school. The Melantrich Gallery is in a reconstructed timbered house with an arcade where various occasional art exhibitions take place throughout the year.
THE JENDA RAJMAN BINDERY - ROŽĎALOVICE
In this unique bindery museum, you will learn about the ancient techniques of bookbinding and you can test your bindery skills in a two-day programme titled "Bind your own book".
